THE NEW KFC® KIDS LAPTOP PACK KIDS MEAL

Great food and loads of fun-in one!

LOUISVILLE, KY - KFC® knows a thing or two about food-and it knows about parents and kids. Now, with the introduction of its new Kids Laptop Pack kids meal, it brings together all of these honest-to-goodness truths:

  • kids are picky;
  • kids don't like their food touching other food;
  • kids want to eat at their own pace; and
  • kids want to feel in control of their mealtimes as they push the limits of both their own independence and their parents' patience.
Armed with this kidformation -- and after much testing, cooking, and tasting, KFC created the ultimate kids meal that realistically takes to heart kids' lives while at the same time taking their parents' heartfelt concerns for satisfying, well-balanced meals into consideration.

The Packaging
KFC created its unique Kids Laptop Pack not only to hold the meal, but to entertain and educate the kids. Innovative, interactive, and incredibly cool, the Laptop Pack keeps each food separate from the rest, allowing kids to maintain a neat setup while eating at home, on the go, or in the car. Its unique portability makes it a favorite for those in the driver's seat as there are no spills or food on the floor after quick meals on the run.

Moreover, the brightly illustrated packaging features captivating games and activities for kids aged six to 12 -- trivia, arithmetic, puzzles, memory, and more. The pack's theme changes every few months, with the current theme, through January 31, 2003, based on the popular Nickelodeon series and feature movie (in theaters Dec. 20) "The Wild Thornberrys*." Other Laptop Pack themes have included Wild Animals and Inventors and their Inventions. KFC calls its first-of-a-kind Laptop Pack "edu-tainment," but, shhhh, don't tell the kids.

The Food
When it comes to variety, no other kids meal out there offers more, either for kids or parents. Parents, 90 percent of whom indicated in a recent survey that variety is a top priority in their children's diet, get the satisfaction of knowing that a wide array of food choices is available**. Kids get a choice of chicken, choice of an individual side item, Mott's® applesauce, and General Mills® Fruit by the Foot® snack, allowing for a chart-topping 18 different food combinations (on average). Even the pickiest among them will almost never have to eat the same exact meal twice.

In fact, they don't even have to eat the entire meal at the same time, but can instead nibble on their chicken and mashed potatoes at the table and save their individually wrapped fruit snack or applesauce for a snack later.

Best yet, while prices vary across the country, Kids Laptop Pack meals start at just $2.99 -- a bargain considering the quality, quantity, and mealtime pleasure they provide every member of the family.

KFC's Kids Laptop Pack kids meal -- the only wholesome, well balanced, and fun meal created with the real-life needs of both kids and parents in mind!
