ORIGINAL COLONEL SANDERS' SUIT AUCTIONED OFF FOR $80,000

Proceeds Go to KFC's New Charity Colonel's Kids®

LOUISVILLE, KY - KFC® franchise organization Harman Management of Los Altos, Ca. bid $80,000 for an authentic white suit once worn by KFC founder Colonel Harland Sanders. The auction took place at KFC's annual Association of KFC Franchisees (AKFCF) Convention this week in Honolulu, Hawaii.

Harman Management namesake Leon W. "Pete'' Harman was recognized by the KFC Corporation for 50 years of service. As the Colonel's first franchisee, Harman played a significant role in helping make KFC's secret recipe of 11 herbs and spices a household name -- and an international mystery.

Mildred Sanders Ruggles donated her father's trademark suit to be auctioned off at a benefit for KFC's new charity Colonel's Kids® which was established to help combat America's child care crisis.

Inspired by Colonel Harland Sanders' love for children and KFC's commitment to family values, Colonel's Kids was established to help combat America's child care crisis. KFC is one of the first corporations to address the child care issue nationally. Money raised through Colonel's Kids will help YMCA Child Care develop pilot programs in two underdeveloped areas: infant/toddler care and extended-hour care. For more information on the Colonel's Kids charity, please contact the Colonel's Kids hotline at (800) 874-3273 or log on to www.colonelskids.com.
